What should have been a dream cruise turned into a comedy of errors that had me questioning everything by lunchtime on day one.

I've been dreaming about this cruise for two years. Two years of saving, planning, and watching YouTube videos about the MSC Seashore's supposedly incredible Promenade Deck. My wife Karen and I had splurged on an Ocean View cabin with a balcony on Deck 6, and I was absolutely buzzing with excitement as we pulled into the port in Galveston on that humid Tuesday morning in June. That's when everything went sideways. First, let me paint the picture. We arrive at the cruise terminal at 10:45 AM, having done everything "right."
