Taking my kids and my parents on the same cruise should have been chaos—and honestly, it kind of was, but in the best possible way.
My mother called me three weeks before departure and said, "What if we all went together?" She meant my parents, me, my husband, and our two kids. On one cruise. For seven days. She said it like she'd just discovered a cure for cancer, not proposed what I was pretty sure would be a logistical nightmare.
