I stood at the Port of New York, staring up at the Queen Mary 2, and felt my stomach do a nervous flip. Not the excited kind—the "what the hell am I doing?" kind. My best friend Sarah had been trying to convince me to take a cruise for years, and I'd resisted every pitch.
