At 250,800 GT and capable of carrying over 7,600 passengers at full capacity, it became the world's largest cruise ship on its debut in January 2024. The reviews from the inaugural season were strikingly consistent in their message: it's extraordinary if you go in knowing what to expect — and it's overstimulating if you don't. What Icon Gets Right The waterpark: Category 6 is genuinely excellent. The waterslides are thrilling, the lazy river that wraps around the ship is unique, and the pool area is expansive enough that despite the massive passenger count, it never feels impossibly crowded (at least during off-peak hours).
